Happy Halloween! We had a busy but fantastic day today and the kids looked adorable in their costumes! Thank you to everyone who sent in treats for our class party, we appreciate your support! Enjoy your trick or treating tonight....I'll be super busy, we get hundreds of kids in our neighborhood!
This week in ELA we are working with unfamiliar words, synonyms and antonyms, and reading to find the author's message to us. In Math we are working with 3-digit numbers. In Science we are learning about living things. In Social Studies we are learning about changes in America. In Health we are learning how to take care of ourselves when we are sick. Our Rooted in Reading text this week is Stone Soup. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this story all week long. We are also going to make Stone Soup! :)

STONE SOUP
Dear Parents,
This Thursday (11/3), we would like to make Stone Soup as a class. Please send in one item from the list below by Wednesday. Thank you!
*can of chicken broth, can of tomatoes, carrot, potato, onion, celery, green beans, corn, peas, gluten free pasta, etc…. Thank you!
In closing, I'd also like to remind you that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Your student is welcome to bring slippers to keep in their cubby for when they come in from recess with damp shoes. Please be sure that your child brings a coat or jacket every day now that Fall is here. We go outside for every recess unless there is heavy rain. Thanks so much!
Have a great week!
