Hello Creekside Families,
Thank you to everyone who drove and chaperoned for our trip to Andelin Family Farm today. We had a great time! Thank you as well to Alexa who sponsored today's trip, we appreciate it! :) Tomorrow is PJs and popcorn day in our classroom. Kids are welcome to wear weather appropriate jammies to school (remember to wear playground appropriate shoes!) and I will provide the popcorn. Tuesday, June 13th will be our end of the year class party. We will be having a Luau with the 3rd graders. Kids are welcome to wear Hawaiian clothing and bring a healthy snack to share with both classes. Thank you! We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this book all week long. Spelling List (Compound Words) inside myself bedroom football birthday downtown baseball cannot outside into (Spelling tests are given on the following Monday.) iReady Testing Due to time constraints with the CAASP testing taking longer than planned for the upper grades, Jeff has decided to have students take their end of the year iReady tests at home. Please login to iReady. You should see a red button labeled, “begin test”. Please have your child complete both the Math and the Reading tests this week. Please encourage your child to take their time while testing and to do their very best work. Some students answer the questions too quickly and then have to retest. Should this happen, I will let you know via email. It is a good idea to break up the testing into smaller, manageable chunks rather than testing for a long period of time. Thank you! In closing, I'd also like to remind you that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Your student is welcome to bring slippers to keep in their cubby for when they come in from recess with damp shoes. Please be sure that your child brings a coat or jacket every day now that the snow is here. We go outside for every recess unless there is heavy rain. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks! Have a great week! Jenny Hello Creekside Families,
Please remember that this coming Monday, June 5th is our field trip to the Andelin Family Farm in Sparks. Students MUST be at school on time, we will be leaving campus about 9am. We must be in the cars and on the road by 9:15 in order to get to our tour on time. Should your child be late and we have already left, please see Lynn in the office. All students should wear appropriate shoes and clothes for a farm trip and bring a sack lunch as well as a water bottle. If they need suntan lotion, please apply it to your child before school. Thank you. We're looking forward to a great trip! Jenny Hello Creekside Families,
