Thank you to all of you who dropped by the classroom this morning to sign Master Agreements for 2nd semester. If you haven't already done so, please stop by the classroom after school to sign them. I promise it will only take a minute! Thank you!
Just a reminder that next Tuesday and Wednesday (2/6 & 2/7) will be the midyear iReady assessments for the 2nd grade. Please be sure that your child has a good night sleep and healthy breakfast in preparation for the assessments. Thank you!
This week in ELA we are learning the difference between facts and opinions, working with possessives, and comparing and contrasting texts. In Math we are working with comparing lengths and reviewing addition and subtraction for next week's iReady assessments. In Science we are learning about weather. In Social Studies we are learning about Federal laws. In Health we are learning about school nurses. Our Rooted in Reading book this week is Akiak, A Tale from the Iditarod. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this book all week long. We are also working on our 3rd Project Based Learning Activity entitled Valentine's Day Party Planner.

In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
