The snow is back! Please be sure that your child comes to school dressed to play in the snow, we go outside in ALL weather except for heavy rain. We also occasionally hike up to the outdoor classroom which requires boots. Kids should have boots, snow pants, a coat or jacket, a hat, and gloves. Sunglasses can also be a good idea if the sun is out. Students are welcome to bring in a pair of slippers to keep in their cubbies to wear while in the classroom. Also, please continue to send in a water bottle. Thank you!
This week in ELA we are working on collective nouns, character traits, characters, and setting. In Math we are learning about money. (This would be a good time to review skip counting at home!) In Science, we are learning about the moon and stars. In Social Studies we are learning about the United States Government. In Health we are learning about changes. We are also working on our Science journals and are starting to work on our STEM activity....Leprechaun Traps! We will work our way through the design and build process then write about how our traps are supposed to work using transitional words (first, next, then, last). Our SEL activities include Life Ingredients, daily class check ins led by a different student each day, and win/lose vs. win/win scenarios.

Writing Assignment
Imagine that one day you sat down to lunch like usual and found yourself across the table from a leprechaun! What does the tiny, green man tell you about his life, Ireland, and all his gold? Your story should have a beginning, middle, and an end. Write at least 6 sentences and use your best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
