I want to thank you all for coming to the parent/teacher conferences last week. It was a pleasure to get a chance to speak with you about your children. They are truly wonderful and I so enjoy working with them each day!
This week in ELA we are reading "Scarcity" and discussing what it means when we have limited resources. We are also working on words that contain the r-controlled sound (er, ir, us) and reading comprehension skills which include discerning the author's purpose, identifying facts and details, and discussing background knowledge. In Math we are working with place values. In Science we are learning about "Water" and "Weather". In Social Studies we are learning about "History and Time".

As I mentioned in my previous email, picture day has been postponed by the weather and rescheduled for November 12, 13, 14. I will send more information to you as I receive it. There will also be updates in the Snippet. On the bright side, the kids and I have been having great fun playing in the snow together. Stay tuned for some fun pictures to be updated to our class website soon!
Speaking of snow, with the winter weather now upon us, I have been asked to remind you to send your children to school dressed appropriately for the snow with jackets, snow pants, gloves and snow boots. A warm hat would be helpful as well. Students that are not wearing snow boots or snow pants will not be allowed to be play in the snow and have to stay on the boardwalk areas to keep dry. You may send slippers to school for your children to wear while inside the classroom if they are uncomfortable wearing their boots all day. Please also remind your students that we are not allowed to throw snowballs on the school campus. And, as always, please continue to send a water bottle to school with your child every day
Thank you!
Have a great week!
Miss Jenny
