Writing Assignment
The theme of Unit 1 is “What can we learn from exploring new places and things?”. The question of the week is “ How can we prepare for exploration?”. This week we are reading Sailing in the Wind, a story about a boy who was the first to sail across the ocean and how he prepared for that trip. Please help your child think about how they prepare to come to school every day and have them write a paragraph about it. Please have your child write 3-5 sentences and use their best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
CCSS Writing 2. Write informative/explanatory texts in which they introduce a topic, use facts and definitions to develop points, and provide a concluding statement or section.
In closing, I'd also like to remind you that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Thanks so much!
> Have a great week!
