Thank you to everyone who came to the Souper Bowl and Open House last week. I had a great time visiting with you and showing you some of your kid's amazing work! I can't believe the school year is almost over already, I'm sure going to miss this classroom family that we have built together over the year.
This week in ELA we are learning about shades of meaning, problems and solutions, and character motivation. In Math we are reviewing time. In Science we are learning about heat and sound. In Social Studies we are learning about people who make a difference. In Health we are learning about energy safety. Our Rooted in Reading book this week is Koala Lou. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this book all week long. We are also working on another Project Based Learning activity entitled Design a Water Park and a Social Studies project entitled Town Builder.

Writing Assignment
This week we are reading Koala Lou, a story about a young Koala who competes in the Bush Olympics to make her mother proud. Have you ever been in a competition? What was it? How did you prepare? Do you like competing? What do you think is the most important thing to remember when competing? Please write 5-7 sentences in your best handwriting. Thank you.
iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
