In Science we are learning about magnets. In Social Studies we are learning about people who make a difference. Our Rooted in Reading book this week is Old Elm Speaks, a collection of tree poems. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this book all week long. We are watching our Kentucky Runner Beans grow and working on our plant life cycle lap books. Our SEL activities this week center around the concepts of active listening and using words to express how we are feeling. We are also reading the book What to do with a Problem.

Writing Assignment
This week we are reading Old Elm Speaks, a collection of tree poems. For this week’s writing assignment, please spend 15 minutes outside observing the world around you. Write about what you notice most. Please write at least 8 sentences and use your best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
