In Science we are learning about observing weather. In Social Studies we are learning about families and trade. In Health we are learning about "friendly features". Our Rooted in Reading book this week is Sharks!. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this book all week long. Writing Assignment
This week we are reading Sharks! as well as a few other non-fiction books about sharks. Please research a shark of your choice and tell me all about it. Be sure to include the name, size, habitat, and other interesting facts about the shark you chose to research. A picture or photo of your shark would be a terrific addition to your paragraph. Write at least 6 sentences and use your best handwriting on lined paper. Be prepared to share your knowledge about your shark with the class! Thank you.
iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you! In closing, I'd also like to remind you that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Your student is welcome to bring slippers to keep in their cubby for when they come in from recess with damp shoes. Please be sure that your child brings a coat or jacket every day now that the snow is here. We go outside for every recess unless there is heavy rain. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
Jenny
