I'd like to start off this memo by reminding you to read the snippet every Monday to stay up to date on our school and the upcoming Souper Bowl on Sunday, May 4th at 1:30 pm at the North Tahoe Events Center in Kings Beach. The link is here: http://media.wix.com/ugd/77f062_d6167f78d7924453a8a96ed8b6df519d.pdf. Please be sure to check your child's backpack for the raffle tickets that were sent home today. In order to reserve our space for our upcoming field trip, I also need to collect all of the permission slips and payments ($5) by Wednesday, April 9th. Thank you.

Writing Prompt
Unit 5 explores “What does it mean to be responsible?”. The question of the week is “How can we be responsible animal owners?”. In Bad Dog, Dodger!, Sam learns how to train his dog Dodger. Think about the fun Sam has with his dog. Now write a journal entry that Sam might write telling about a new adventure with Dodger. Please remind your student to use their best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
CCCCS Writing- Write narratives in which they recount a well- elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure.
Book Report & Project
Please have your student read a book in preparation for a combination book report and project that will be assigned next week. There will be a book report form for them to fill out and they will be making a presentation about their book at home to present to the class. The presentation may be in the form of a diorama or a poster. The kids really enjoyed their invention presentations and are looking forward to a chance to present a special project again. Thank you!
*Please keep your student at home if they are not feeling well. We are being extra careful at school about keeping our desks clean and washing our hands often. Hopefully we can all stay as healthy as possible throughout this upcoming flu season.
I'd also like to remind you that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. Thank you all for your cooperation in these matters.
Have a great week!
Miss Jenny
