Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful Spring Break! As always, the kids were very happy to be back together again. It is so sweet to see how much they missed one another. :)
This week in ELA we are working on phonics, creative writing, and story elements. In Math we are learning to recognize and draw shapes. In Science we are learning about the Solar System. In Social Studies we are beginning our Town Builder unit. In Health we are learning about how the things we like can change over time. We are continuing to work on our own versions of Monet's Water Lilies. We are also beginning our unit of study on Mozart's opera The Magic Flute. This interdisciplinary unit meets ELA, Music, and Art standards and they kids LOVE it!

Writing Prompt
This week’s writing assignment is to read a book and complete the book report form in the homework package. Please add more lined paper if they run out of room on the form. They should also include a separate piece of paper designed as an alternate cover for the book they read. The reports should be written in complete sentences with their best handwriting. Thank you!
iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, I'd also like to remind you that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Thanks so much!
Have a great week!
Miss Jenny
