The kids are loving all of the snow! Just a reminder that all students must come to school dressed to play in the snow with a snow jacket, snow pants, gloves, hat, and boots. We go outside in ALL weather conditions except for soaking rain. Please be sure to send in a water bottle as well. Thank you!
This week we are celebrating Dr. Seuss! Please see the weekly schedule below. These activities are just for fun, the students are not required to dress up but if they do, they must also bring the above mentioned snow gear for recess. Thanks!
Monday 3/5: The Cat in the Hat kicks off our week of reading celebration. Come to school in a hat! Teachers will read their favorite children's book to their classes.
Tuesday 3/6: It is Fox in Socks Day! Dr. Seuss' book, Fox in Socks, is our inspiration for this day. Come to school in mismatched socks, funny socks, holiday socks, or the most interesting socks you can find.
Wednesday 3/7: It is Wacky Wednesday! Going along with Dr. Seuss' book, Wacky Wednesday, students are invited to dress wacky or wear their pajamas to school. Be sure the outfit is school appropriate and able to be worn outside. Students MUST still bring snow gear for recess!
Thursday 3/8: Students are welcome to dress as their favorite literary character. The entire school will "STOP, DROP AND READ" during the day.
This week in ELA we are working on writing to inform, abbreviations, and point of view. In Math we are working with telling and writing time. In Science we are learning about why seasons happen. In Social Studies we are learning about presidents. In Health we are learning about decisions. Our Rooted in Reading book is Somebody Loves You, Mr. Hatch. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this book all week long. We have also begun our 4th Project Based Learning project which is designing a Lemonade Stand.

iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
