The snow is back! Please be sure that your child comes to school dressed to play in the snow, we go outside in ALL weather except for heavy rain. We also occasionally hike up to the outdoor classroom which requires boots. Kids should have boots, snow pants, a coat or jacket, a hat, and gloves. Sunglasses can also be a good idea if the sun is out. Students are welcome to bring in a pair of slippers to keep in their cubbies to wear while in the classroom. Also, please continue to send in a water bottle. Thank you!
This week is Read Across America week! To celebrate, we have some themed dress up days. They are:
- Monday 3/2: The Cat in the Hat kicks off our week of reading celebration. Come to school in a hat!
- Tuesday 3/3: It is Fox in Socks Day! Dr. Seuss' book, Fox in Socks, is our inspiration for this day. Come to school in mismatched socks, funny socks, holiday socks, or the most interesting socks you can find.
- Wednesday 3/4: It is Wacky Wednesday! Going along with Dr. Seuss' book, Wacky Wednesday, students are invited to dress wacky or wear their pajamas to school. Be sure the outfit is school appropriate and able to be worn outside.
- Thursday 3/5: Students are welcome to dress as their favorite book character. The entire school will "STOP, DROP AND READ" during the day.
This week in ELA we are working on subject-verb agreement and ABC order. In Math we are learning how to tell and write time. (This would be a good time to review skip counting at home, especially by 5's.) In Science, we are learning about why seasons happen. In Social Studies we are learning about presidents. In Health we are learning about making good decisions. We are also working on our Science journals and special Dr. Seuss activities all week. Our SEL activities include Life Ingredients, daily class check ins led by a different student each day, and win/lose vs. win/win scenarios.

iReady Practice
Please login to iReady. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
