Hello Creekside Families,
Just a quick reminder that I still need to meet with a few of you to sign the LP5 calendars and Master Agreements. Please email me with a time that would work well for you. As you know, Valentine's Day will be upon us shortly. You will find a class list below in case your child wishes to bring in Valentine's Day cards for his/her friends. Please remember that candy is not allowed at school. Thank you!

This week in ELA we are working with antonyms, adjectives, asking questions, and finding details and facts in what we are reading. In Math we are working with word problems that involve addition and subtraction with regrouping/borrowing. In Science we are talking about the environment and in Social Studies we are learning about the government. As always we continue to work with our Handwriting Without Tears workbooks.

Writing Prompt
This week we are reading Life Cycle of a Pumpkin, which tells us how pumpkins grow and change. Help your child think about something in nature that changes and have them write an explanation of how it changes from season to season. Please have them use their best handwriting on lined paper and include a drawing of the changes as well. Thank you.
* I have been informed that the CA Department of Health has issued a statewide severe influenza alert, please keep your student home from school if they are not feeling well. We are being extra careful at school about keeping our desks clean and washing our hands often. Hopefully we can all stay as healthy as possible throughout this upcoming flu season.
I'd also like to remind you that students should be appropriately dressed for the winter weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. Thank you all for your cooperation in these matters.
Have a great week!
Miss Jenny
