Welcome back! I hope all of you had a wonderful Ski/Skate Week! I had a lovely break but I am always glad to come back and spend more time with the kids. I just love how happy and excited they all are to be together again and back at school. :)
Even though we haven't had snow in a while, please be sure that your child comes to school dressed to play in the snow, we go outside in ALL weather except for heavy rain. We also occasionally hike up to the outdoor classroom which requires boots. Kids should have boots, snow pants, a coat or jacket, a hat, and gloves. Sunglasses can also be a good idea if the sun is out. Students are welcome to bring in a pair of slippers to keep in their cubbies to wear while in the classroom. Also, please continue to send in a water bottle. Thank you!
This week in ELA we are working on finding the main purpose in the text and when to use capital letters. In Math we are learning how to draw and use bar graphs and picture graphs. In Science, we are learning about day and night. In Social Studies we are learning about consequences. In Health we are learning about medicines. We are also working on our Science journals. Our SEL activities include Life Ingredients, daily class check ins led by a different student each day, and win/lose vs. win/win scenarios.

Writing Assignment
Research a president of your choice and tell us something about him. You can include something about where he was born, the time he lived in, interesting facts about him, and something important that he did. Don’t forget to tell us why you chose to research this president! Please write at least 6 sentences and use your best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
