It was so fun to see the kids today and hear all about their vacation adventures and Thanksgiving celebrations! Thank you for sending in your field trip donations today, I appreciate it. As long as we get all of our funds in and we keep all the drivers that volunteered on board, we are set to go on our field trip next Thursday, the 12th. We will be enjoying a Creole and Cajun concert in Tahoe City.
This week in ELA, we are reading Pearl and Wagner, a story about how a creative idea helped two animals remain good friends. Our overall theme for Unit 3 is "What does it mean to be creative?" This week's writing prompt is "When does support from others help with a creative idea?" In Phonics we are working with the Long E sound (e, ee, ea, y). We are also working with antonyms, verbs, fantasy stories, comparing and contrasting, character, setting, and plot. We are sure busy! In Math, we are working with Geometry and measurements. Please send in a ruler for your child if you have not already done so. In Science, we are observing the seasonal changes from Fall into Winter. In Social Studies, we are working with maps and globes.

I'd like to close this memo with a reminder to send in a water bottle for your child to use and keep at school. I'd also like to remind you to be sure to send your child to school in weather appropriate clothing. They should bring a coat or jacket to school every day. On snowy days, they need snow boots, a jacket/coat gloves, and snow pants in order to be allowed to play in the snow. A hat may be helpful as well. Thank you so much!
Have a great week!
Miss Jenny
