We are finally back to school!!! I sure missed all of the kids! It is really sweet to see how happy all of the kids are to see one another again. We have a new student in our class, please welcome Teodor to our classroom family.
This week in ELA we are learning about how images can support a text, writing dates, and using commas in a series. In Math we are learning about measurement with different units. In Science we are talking about how we share the Earth. In Social Studies we are learning about how we celebrate America. In Heath we are talking about fire safety. Our Rooted in Reading book this week is a study of Martin Luther King, Jr. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this theme all week long.

Writing Assignment

iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, I'd also like to remind you that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Your student is welcome to bring slippers to keep in their cubby for when they come in from recess with damp shoes. Please be sure that your child brings a coat or jacket every day now that the snow is here. We go outside for every recess unless there is heavy rain. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks so much!
Have a great week!
Jenny
