Thank you to all who sent in donations for our Stone Soup! The kids loved it, some kids even ate 3 bowls of soup! Also, thank you to all who sent in the Halloween goodies and a special thank you to Victoria for organizing everything for the class Halloween party. I appreciate you all!
Just a reminder to check the weather report everyday and perhaps send in a jacket or coat each day, just in case! Also, please be sure that your student has a water bottle to keep at school. Lastly, a gentle reminder that Halloween candy should not be sent to school. Thank you!
We are planning a field trip to the Humane Society in Truckee at 10am on Wednesday, December 4th. We will need drivers/chaperones for this event. Please email me if you are interested in helping us out. Thanks!
This week in ELA we are working on adjectives, describing characters, and text features (captions, bold print, and sub headings). In Math we are working on reading and writing 3-digit numbers. In Science we are learning about forest habitats. In Social Studies we are learning about maps and globes. In Health we are learning about pollution. Our SEL activities include working on "I can statements", "win-win", and "win-lose"cards to help us express our feelings to our peers in a time of conflict and daily check ins.

Writing Assignment
This week we are reading Rough Face Girl, a Native American version of Cinderella. Write your own version of this fairy tale. Remember to have a beginning, middle, and ending to your story. Please write at least 5 sentences and use your best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
iReady Practice
Please login to iReady. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
