FALL BREAK
Thursday, November 17th is our last day of school before Fall Break. The kids will get out of school at the usual time...2:45. Monday and Tuesday (11/21 & 11/22) are IS days. Per Mr. Jeff, we are to send home a small amount of IS work for those days. I will send that home this Thursday. It will be a small packet of holiday themed review ELA and Math work so it should mostly be fun and easy for the kids. Our first class day after Fall Break will be Monday, November 28th. Thank you!
This week in ELA we continue to learn about text features (glossary, index, and table of contents), adjectives, adverbs, and predicting what will happen next in a story. In Math we are comparing and contrasting 3-digit numbers. In Science we are learning about animals. In Social Studies we are learning about maps and globes. In Health we are learning to look out for hazards. Our Rooted in Reading book this week is Turk and Runt. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this story all week long.

Writing Assignment
This week we are reading Turk and Runt, a story about 2 brothers who are turkeys on a farm at Thanksgiving time. Write your own story about a turkey escape! Remember to have a beginning, middle, and ending to your story. Please write at least 5 sentences and use your best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
iReady Practice
Please login to iReady. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, I'd also like to remind you that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Your student is welcome to bring slippers to keep in their cubby for when they come in from recess with damp shoes. Please be sure that your child brings a coat or jacket every day now that Fall is here. We go outside for every recess unless there is heavy rain. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks so much!
Have a great week!
