Let me start off this week's memo with some important updates for you. School photos are rescheduled to November 12-14 with the SVP photos being taken on the 12th, 3rd-6th on the 13th and K-2 on the 14th. We'll start at 10 am. In other news, Kelly Dietz is helping Kat out with the playground set-up and you'll see that wood chips and some other items are present. In the Snippet, we have put out the request for help for a volunteer work party on Friday and hope to have a lovely set-up as a result.
This week in ELA we are reading a play called "The Bremen Town Musicians" which is a fairy tale about animals that sing together to solve a problem. Our question of the week (and writing prompt) is "Why is it a good idea to work together?". We are also working with plurals (-s, -es, ies), homophones (words that sound the same but are spelled differently and have different meanings. Ex- week/weak), fairy tales, sequencing, and working with prior knowledge. In Math we are adding 2-digit numbers and making a "new ten" or "new hundred". This skill is also known "carrying a number". In Science we are learning about "Space" and "The Sun". In Social Studies we are learning about "History and Time" and "Technology". We are also working with out "Handwriting Without Tears" curriculum.

Halloween sure was a lot of fun last week! The kids were all so cute in their costumes and very excited for the school parade. I took a bunch of photos that I will work on getting uploaded to the class website. Please email me any photos you may like to share with the class as well. As always, let me end the memo by asking you to be sure to send a water bottle to school every day with your child. They should also be appropriately dressed for the colder weather and/or snow. Thank you!
Have a great week!
Miss Jenny
