Now that fall is finally here, please remember to check the weather forecast daily and perhaps send in a coat every day, just in case! Also, just a gentle reminder as Halloween approaches, those little snack size candies are awfully tempting to send to school in a lunch box! Please try to refrain from sending candy to school, even if the sugar doesn't affect your child, their friends go wild with envy! One last reminder, please send in a water bottle for your child to have in class. Thanks!
This week in ELA we are working on sequencing, descriptive words, and proper vs.common nouns. In Math we are working on 2-digit addition with regrouping. In Science we are learning how animals stay alive. In Social Studies we are learning about North American Indian Nations. In Health we are working on a the balance between our food intake and physical activity. Our SEL activities include working on "I can statements" to help us express our feelings to our peers in a time of conflict.

Writing Assignment
This week’s writing prompt is: Imagine you had a pet monster that went on vacation. Where would it go? What kinds of things would it do? Tell me all about it. Please have your child write 4-5 sentences and use their best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
(CCSS Writing 3- Write narratives in which they recount a well elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure.)
iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
