Just a reminder that we will have minimum days for Fall conferences all this week. Students should be picked up by 12:15. Thank you all for taking the time to come in and talk with me about your wonderful children!
This week in ELA we are working with adjectives and adverbs, spelling (see below), and reading and writing narratives. In Math we are reviewing Unit 1 and working on word problems. In Science we are learning about what living things need to stay alive. In Social Studies we are learning about history and time. In Health we are investigating our sensory responses to food.

Writing Prompt
This week we are beginning our writing unit on Narrative Writing. A narrative tells a made-up or real story. The characters can be people or plants, animals, and objects that act like people. Narrative writing has a beginning that introduces the characters and setting, a middle that shows how the characters think, feel, and act, and an end that finishes the story and makes sense. Please have you child write a narrative with animal characters. It should be at least 5 sentences in their best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you!
In closing, I'd also like to remind you that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Thanks so much!
Have a great week!
Miss Jenny
