A few reminders for you this week: Please be sure to sign up for our Fall conferences that will be held next week. School will be let out at 12:15 all next week. Also, please remember to mark Thursday, November 2nd as an IS day on your calendar, the entire Creekside staff will be having professional development on 11/3 and 11/4. Thank you!
This week in ELA we are learning how to determine the central message in a text, locating facts, and learning about different types of sentences. In Math we are working on subtracting 2-digit numbers. In Science we are learning about habitats. In Social Studies we are learning about changes for Native Americans. In Health we are talking about healthy food choices. Our Rooted in Reading book this week is Spiders by Gail Gibbons. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this book all week long. We are also continuing to work on our first Project Based Learning Activity entitled Snake Search!

Writing Assignment
This week’s writing prompt is: “research an insect of your choice and write at least 5 facts about what you have learned.” Please have your child write 4-5 sentences and use their best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
