Writing Assignment
The theme of Unit 2 is “How can we work together?”. The question of the week is "How can we help each other in dangerous situations?”. This week we are reading Tara and Tiree, a story about a dangerous rescue. Please help your child think about the ways people work together in dangerous situations. Now have them write a narrative nonfiction (real information presented in the form of a story, told in chronological order) paragraph about rescue workers. Please have your child write 3-5 sentences and use their best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
CCSS Writing 3- Write narratives in which they recount a well elaborated event or short sequence of events, include details to describe actions, thoughts, and feelings, use temporal words to signal event order, and provide a sense of closure. (This is a description of the standards that the above writing assignment meets.)
In closing, I'd also like to remind you that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Thanks so much!
Have a great week!
Miss Jenny
