Just a reminder that tomorrow at 8:35 will be our all school photo. Please be sure to have your child at school by 8:30 so they don't miss out! Make up photos will also be taken tomorrow. Regarding the weather, it seems like we are in for some wind and possibly rain this week, please be sure to send a coat or jacket to school with your child. Thank you!
This week in ELA we are asking and answering story questions, finding the problem and solution in a text, and working with strong verbs. In Math we are working with 2 step word problems. In Science we are learning how animals grow and change. In Social Studies we are learning about explorers. In Health we are talking about taste. Our Rooted in Reading book this week is Stellaluna. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this book all week long. We are continuing to work on our PBL (project based learning) entitled Bats Around the World which is an project that hits multiple standards for English, Science, Social Studies, Art, and STEM.

Writing Assignment
This week’s writing prompt is: “What would life be like if you could fly? Tell me about it… How would it feel? Where would you go? etc…”. Please have your child write 3-5 sentences and use their best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
