Thank you for all of your kind emails and concern about my sick dog. I am greatly relieved to say that after the vet and medicine, he is feeling much more like himself. I was terrified and I'm so thankful he is going to be ok. I am also thankful to get to work with such wonderful and caring families. Thank you!
This week in ELA we are learning how to use commas, explaining how images support a text, and learning all about Martin Luther King, Jr. In Math we are working with measurement using different units. In Science we are learning about soil. In Social Studies we are learning about American cultures. In Health we are learning about accident prevention. Our Rooted in Reading books this week are all about Martin Luther King, Jr. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around these books all week long. We are also beginning on our 3rd Project Based Learning Activity entitled Valentine's Day Party Planner.

Writing Assignment
While playing outside you found a wallet with $5,000 inside. What do you do next? Be sure your story has a beginning, middle, and an end. Please write at least 6 sentences and use your best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
