Field trip permission slips went home last week with the weekly IS. Please sign and return them with the $5 ASAP. Thank you to our drivers/volunteers for that day- Molly, Victoria, Emily, Jill, Matt, Kat, and Laura. We will be sharing Kat and Molly with the 4th grade class. Thank you!
Please be sure that your child comes to school dressed to play in the snow, we go outside in ALL weather except for heavy rain. Kids should have boots, snow pants, a coat or jacket, a hat, and gloves. Sunglasses can also be a good idea if the sun is out. Students are welcome to bring in a pair of slippers to keep in their cubbies to wear while in the classroom. Also, please continue to send in a water bottle. Thank you!
This week in ELA we are working on biographies, how to identify key facts, and commas. In Math we are learning how to estimate measurement. In Science, we are learning about using Earth's resources. In Social Studies we are learning about rules and responsibilities. In Health we are learning more about fire emergencies. We are also working on our Design a Ski Resort projects and Science journals. Our SEL activities include Life Ingredients, daily class check ins led by a different student each day, and win/lose vs. win/win scenarios.

Writing Assignment
The writing prompt this week is: “What are some of the animals that you might see during the winter that you wouldn’t see any other part of the year?” If you’re not sure that you’ve seen any animals in the winter, make up a story in which you see your favorite Arctic animals (like Arctic Wolves, Ring seals, and Polar Bears) walking through your backyard! Please write at least 6 sentences and use your best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
