It is hard to believe that it is almost the end of the school year! What a terrific group of kids they are! :) We will be starting the end of the year iReady tests today and throughout the week. At this time, please do NOT do any iReady practice at home until further notice. Thank you!
This week in ELA we are working with phonics, drawing conclusions and summarizing, synonyms, and realistic fiction. We are also working on a fun interdisciplinary unit on the book The Three Javalinas and a cool poem entitled Captain Red's Gold. In Math we are working on regrouping (borrowing/carrying) and other math review. In Science we are learning about energy. In Social Studies we are continuing to work on out Town Builder project.

Writing Prompt
A Birthday Party for Tia tells about a child finding the perfect present for a favorite aunt. Think about family celebrations. Now write a story about a character that is planning a family celebration. Please write 6-8 sentences with your best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you!
In closing, I'd also like to remind you that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Thanks so much!
Have a great week!
Miss Jenny
