We are expecting more snowy weather this week! Please be sure your student arrives to school dressed to play in the snow as we go outside in all weather conditions except for very wet snow or heavy rain. All students should have snow boots, snow pants, a jacket, gloves, and a hat. Sunglasses are also helpful. Thank you!
This is the time of the semester when I ask parents to email me a photo of your student engaged in a physical activity as a PE work sample. This can be a photo of them skiing, snow boarding, hiking, doing gymnastics, etc... Please try to email the photo by the end of the week. Thank you!
This Thursday we will be attending an assembly at 8:30 at OVL. Please drop off your student there instead of at campus. Teachers will be meeting the students inside OVL then walking them back to campus after the assembly. Thanks!
This week in ELA we are learning how images support a text, looking for lessons in a story, and learning about pronouns. In Math we are learning how to use different units of measurement. In Science we are learning about soil. In Social Studies we are learning about American cultures. In Health we are learning how to prevent accidents. Our SEL activities this week include a special visit from the ladies of Life Ingredients. This week we are talking about gratitude as well as practicing how to listen to others. Our Rooted in Reading book this week is Alexander Who Used to be Rich Last Sunday. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this book all week long. We are also finishing up our work on our PBL (project based learning) entitled Design a Ski Resort which is a project that hits multiple standards for English, Math, Science, Social Studies, Art, and STEM.

Writing Assignment
While playing outside you found a wallet with $5,000 inside. What do you do next? Be sure your story has a beginning, middle, and an end. Please write at least 6 sentences and use your best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
