The lovely Fall weather is here at last which means cold mornings and warm afternoons most days here on campus. Please be sure that your children bring a coat to school every day. We go outside to play in ALL weather conditions except for heavy rain or really wet snow. Once winter is upon us, students will need snow gear (coat, snow pants, gloves, and hat) for recess. Thank you!
I sent out emails today with conference sign ups and iReady information. You should have also received individual emails with your student's own username and password. You can get to the iReady login in page from ParentSquare or from our class website. Please let me know if you have any problems signing your child in. Thanks!
This week in ELA we are learning about common and proper nouns and recounting/retelling stories. In Math we are adding 2-digit numbers. In Science we are learning about what animals and plants need to stay alive. In Social Studies we are learning about Native American Nations. In Health we are learning about keeping our health in balance. Our Rooted in Reading book this week is I Need My Monster. We will be working on all sorts of reading, writing, grammar, and art activities around this book all week long. We are continuing to work on our PBL (project based learning) entitled Bats Around the World which is an project that hits multiple standards for English, Science, Social Studies, Art, and STEM.

Writing Assignment
This week’s writing prompt is: Imagine you had a pet monster that went on vacation. Where would it go? What kinds of things would it do? Tell me all about it. Please have your child write 4-5 sentences and use their best handwriting on lined paper. Thank you.
iReady Practice
Please login to i Ready. You should see a red button labeled, “start my lessons”. Please complete one Math and one Language Arts lesson. Thank you!
In closing, please remember that students should be appropriately dressed for the weather and that ALL students need to have a water bottle to keep at school as we do not have cups to offer them should they be thirsty. If your child needs sunscreen, please apply it before they come to school. Just a refresher on our illness policy: If your child is sick, he or she must be fever free and free of vomiting for 24 hours before they may return to school. Thanks!
Have a great week!
